Battle Mountain – NO THANKS!
2011-08-12
Every Year in September, cyclists from around the world will gather in Battle Mountain, Nevada on what is arguably the straightest, flattest, and smoothest road surface in the world. The 1’408m altitude road allows riders an acceleration zone of over 4 miles, enabling them to reach their maximum velocity before being timed over a 200 meter distance.
My personal opinion: Downhill 0.7%. So please, stop asking me about starting on such an event. One day probably I’ll try to brake the real 200m top-speed-record set by Damjan Zabovnik on the Dekra-Testoval: 107.2kmh
My proposal: Battle Mountain should be raced in two-way like Bonneville.
ps: I like Downhill, every winter in the Swiss Alps!
