Finally it was not my health or the weather to prevent a new record. Last weekend we had a technical problem and were not able to solve it at place.
But I am not frustrated. I enjoyed the training, had fun building Metastretto and testing it so many times. The whole project is my passion, not only riding a record makes me happy. The bike is fast and we will show the full potential in the future. I am still sure we can ride 94+ in one hour one day! Back in the office my chief said: you are a tumbler, standing up again every time.
By the way: Our hour-record is unbeaten for more than 3 years now – have a look on tv-session. Many teams tried to attack the mark of 91.556km. The best mark after my record was 87.2km set this year by frenchman Aurelien Bonneteau. This is still more than 4.3km less. Other riders start fast but quit their ride after 20 minutes due to overheating or simply because it is so hard to go on at this pace.
