92^{432 km} - ONE hour

We have most of the parts of Metastretto. The shape-halfs, the wheels, different frame-parts and practically all the mechanical parts like: stearing-system, crankset and chainring, hubs and gearing-system – all custom made. The next step is to join all of them together. I have nice support and it is funny to build that streamliner without stress.

Today I got good news from our main-sponsor – vonrollinfratec:

The molds of Metastretto are done! I haven’t seen them yet but they look great on pictures. We start with the production of Metastretto in the end of september. Several mechanical- and wheelparts are in production too.

In the last weeks I used to train mostly with Jemima. Next week is the start of our holiday-biketour on the Cote d’Azur in France.

I am tired! After hard training for many years, I take a brake for this season.  Looking at the bad weather for months, believe me, I’m really not sad to leave the bikes in the garage 🙂

At the same time I’m happy to announce our new bike – METASTRETTO

After RIstretto and EIVIEstretto, METAstretto is gonna be our third streamliner with one goal (italian „goal“ -> meta) – push the limits of the hour-record as far as possible.

A newly assembled team of engineers is working on the bike. I have on my side Teppo Mäkelä, Simon Zumbrunnen, Robert Vogel, Stefan Grünig and VonRollinfratec. Our goal is to set, ohh – I’m sorry, to improve my World Record in 2014. – smile
